Descent, Ascent, Marvelous: Total Solar Eclipse, Aug. 21, 2017
A composite of the history of the eclipse merged with the corona visible during totality. Photos were recorded 5 miles west of Corvallis, OR. Pre- and post- images were taken about every 13 minutes. The small white dot just below the second pre-eclipse image (far left) was the star Regulus, only actually visible during totality. The corona (totality) image was magnified by 50% to make it's details more evident. Six sunspots can be seen along the equator of the sun. The 2 minute long phase of totality peaked at about 10:18 AM PDT.
